Each of The Corp’s services involves a specific set of responsibilities and demands a certain set of skills. While no prior experience is needed for any entry-level position in The Corp, it’s important to know what each job entails and the kind of applicants each service is looking for.

SERVICES HIRING IN SPRING 2012

Corp Catering:

As a new hire “Catering Specialist,” you will be trained in customer service standards, presentation standards, and troubleshooting tactics. You will put these skills to use in the preparation, delivery, and drop-off of catering orders. Although the nature of a catering service does not allow for 9 guaranteed hours of work per week, Corp Catering offers the unique new hire experience of immediate increased involvement in the store. Catering new hires bypass the entry level position and assume an active role in the managerial side of Corp Catering from day one. You will be trained in the brand, product, price, and promotional strategies and can join either the business development committee or the customer representative program where you will learn and participate in the development of the Corp’s newest service.

Midnight MUG:

New hires will be trained to work as cashiers and baristas, filling drink orders and keeping the store well stocked and clean during breaks. Applicants need not have previous coffee experience, but should be ready to learn their new job quickly. Applicants must be comfortable working with others on shift and prepared to be a polite and poised customer servant to the many students who are studying and socializing in Lau.

it+marketing - Marketing

Working in The Corp Marketing Department is like no job you have ever had before or will ever have again. The IT+M family has a creative culture that thrives on unique personalities and shared inspiration. With a fast paced startup vibe, innovation prospers and hard work is rewarded, creating an IT+M family that extends beyond our Leavey Center office. As a Marketing Consultant you will have ownership over projects from day one, be responsible for creating Service and Corp-Wide Campaigns and participating in weekly brainstorm meetings. No experience is required, but Hoyas with graphic design, web design, art, photography, videography or social media strategy experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

it+marketing - Information Technology

As an Information Technology Specialist, you will work on a wide range of projects ranging from innovative web design to database and server management. Current and future projects include a revamped application process, internal employee reporting system, website redesign, and online sales management. IT Specialists work closely with one another and have the opportunity to interact with all other Corp services in addition to contributing to the guidance of The Corp’s information systems. No experience is required to apply, but you must have a willingness to learn. More Uncommon Grounds:

New hires to the little cart with the big heart will be trained first as cashiers and stockers, learning how to receive and fill orders from customers as well as keep the store stocked and clean. Later, you will be trained as a barista to make drinks and manage the store. Applicants need not have any prior coffee experience, but should be fast and eager learners. Applicants should be comfortable working in close quarters with other employees (our store is tiny!) and have excellent customer service.

Vital Vittles:

New employees will be hired as Cashier/Stockers and will be given three weekly shifts split between the two roles. Job duties include keeping the shelves stocked, helping customers at the register and in the aisles, and keeping the store clean and presentable. This position enables you to eventually apply for the many management positions in the areas of purchasing, marketing, HR, and operations. Candidates must be excellent customer servants, have good interpersonal skills, and be looking for an enjoyable and rewarding job.

Hoya Snaxa:

New employees will be hired as Cashiers/Stockers and will be given three weekly shifts. Job duties include keeping the shelves stocked, helping customers at the register and keeping the store clean and presentable. Candidates must be great customer servants, have good interpersonal skills, and be looking for an enjoyable and rewarding job. Working at Hoya Snaxa enables you to eventually apply for the many management positions in the areas of purchasing, marketing, and operations.

Accounting:

A new hire in Corp Accounting takes on the role of Store Accountant. A Store Accountant is assigned one external service, for which he or she will enter bills, file invoices, keep track of spoiled products, and help run reports on sales. Store Accountants also work one shift at their respective service to gain a hands on experience that provides insight when running service specific reports. Store Accountants answer to Accountants Payable in order to sort out issues when paying bills and to contact vendors.
