The UG Arts Scholarship

What: The UG Arts Scholarship is a merit-based grant for student artists; visual and performing (this includes studio art, photography, music, theater, dance, etc.) We are looking for innovative, talented applicants who demonstrate a strong passion for, and dedication to, the arts.

Details: We will be giving three separate scholarships ($300, $200, $100) to individuals selected based on their applications and interviews. As a winner, you will be required to use this money to complete a specific project that will be showcased in UG later this spring.

Questions:

1) Why did you pursue your art?

2) Envision Georgetown in ten years. Specifically, envision the role the arts would play on campus. How is it different from today? What changes, if any, would you implement and why?

3) How do you think Uncommon Grounds and The Corp at large can aid, as well as learn from, student artists and artistic organizations of Georgetown and the greater DC community?

4) If awarded this scholarship, what would your project be and why? Please include a financial breakdown and the materials you would need to complete your project.
