About Us

One of the oldest Corp services, the program began in 1977 to offer students an easy and affordable way to store their items during the summer break. In 1990, the Corp began providing shipping options, as well, though this practice has since been discontinued.

Today, Corp Student Storage has expanded to include semester and year-long study abroad options for students. After three decades of operation, Corp Student Storage continues to offer the lowest rates and best services of any storage company, and was the storage company of choice for over 1,000 students and faculty at Georgetown University and the surrounding area.

Mission Statement
Students of Georgetown, Inc. (the Corp), a non-profit corporation, was founded on March 6, 1972 with the goal of providing low cost goods and services to the Georgetown University community pursuant to its goal of “Students Serving Students.” The Corp is committed to providing educational benefits to its employees through practical experience and through academic credit whenever possible, and to the University at-large through sponsoring and/or funding lectures, seminars, scholarships, libraries, or any other activity or program directly related to improving academic opportunities for the University community.

Now in its fourth decade of service, Students of Georgetown, Inc. operates 8 services— Vital Vittles, Uncommon Grounds, More Uncommon Grounds, Corp Catering, Student Storage, Hoya Snaxa and The Midnight Mug —and maintains Human Resources, Marketing, Information Technology and Accounting departments. Today, the Corp has evolved into a multi-million dollar business and has grown into the largest student-owned and student-operated corporation in America, with a staff of nearly 200 students.

In addition to the services each individual store is able to provide, the Corp supports the Georgetown community through many donations to student groups and clubs throughout the year. The Corp formed a partnership with H.O.P.E. (Hoya Outreach Programs and Education) and GU Habitat for Humanity supporting both groups in their service to the community. Throughout its years of service, the Corp’s philosophy has remained simple: we are students serving students. After 30 years as members of the Georgetown community, we are still going strong, continually serving fellow students and enriching the community. Thank you Georgetown! about the Corp's impact on campus since 1972.
