Conditions of Use
The following constitutes an agreement between Students of Georgetown, Inc. (herein “SG”) and the customer (herein “Customer”) for the Customer’s items and their value listed below. The conditions of storage are governed by the terms of this contract.
1) SG agrees to store the Customer’s items listed above for the period spanning “Drop Off” until return at “Pick Up.” SG further agrees to use reasonable care and ordinary care in said storage. Customer will have no access to stored items during storage period.
2) SG agrees to insure these items against loss or damage up to $100.00 per box. Unless the Customer purchases additional insurance from SG, the Customer agrees that the released value of each item is no greater than $100.00 and that SG’s liability is limited to $100. Additional insurance may be purchased at the rate of $2.00 per each $100.00 of insurance, up to the declared value stated above, not to exceed $800.00 per box.
3) In the event of loss or damage, receipts and/or professional estimates, as well as the Customer copy of this contract signed by an SG employee at the time of drop off or pickup, must be furnished to process claims. Claims must be submitted by the deadline provided by SG. SG maintains the right to inspect all boxes to confirm market value of items. SG’s liability will be limited to repair or replacement of lost or damaged items, non-inclusive of sentimental value.
4) The standard and additional insurance mentioned above in #2 will NOT cover the following: jewelry, cash, collectibles, electronic equipment, improperly packed items, unpacked items, damage to storage containers, and minor damage due to handling, including but not limited to scratches, nicks and cuts. Hazardous material and contraband are strictly prohibited and SG reserves the right to inspect for such items.
5b) Fall Study Abroad storage parcels above may include the two sizes of
cartons
furnished by SG, trunks/footlockers, suitcases, plastic storage bins,
and refrigerators
according to the rates below: Small Corp boxes @ $45.00 (1.5 cubic food
cartons), which may not exceed 50 pounds, large Corp boxes @ $64.00 (3.1
cubic foot cartons), which may not
exceed 55 pounds, non-Corp storage bins @ $79.00, small refrigerators @
$69.00 (up to 3 cubic feet) and large refrigerators @
$84.00 (between 3 and 10 cubic feet), all of which may not exceed 70
pounds. For every pound over the weight limit stated above, the Customer
will be charged $2.00 to be paid in cash on the Pick Up day.
5c) Year-Long Study Abroad storage parcels above may include the two sizes of cartons furnished by SG, trunks/footlockers, suitcases, plastic storage bins, and refrigerators according to the rates below: Small Corp boxes @ $72.00 (1.5 cubic food cartons), which may not exceed 50 pounds, large Corp boxes @ $99.00 (3.1 cubic foot cartons), which may not exceed 55 pounds, non-Corp storage bins @ $119.00, small refrigerators @ $98.00 (up to 3 cubic feet) and large refrigerators @ $119.00 (between 3 and 10 cubic feet), all of which may not exceed 70 pounds. For every pound over the weight limit stated above, the Customer will be charged $2.00 to be paid in cash on the Pick Up day.

6) These parcels must be packed securely and designed to prevent breakage of content. SG will not be liable for loss or damage caused by improper packaging. Customer must ensure that their name and contract number (located in the upper right hand corner of this document) are clearly visible on each parcel stored with SG. Due to the logistical reservations involved with storage, absolutely NO REFUNDS will be given.
7) Parcels for storage are to be dropped off at one of the locations provided by SG by the customer or his/her agent or given to an SG representative of the At Room Pick-up service if the Customer chooses to use the At Room Pick-up service. The Customer MUST bring this contract to the Drop Off site with the parcels or present the contract to an SG representative if the Customer chooses to use the At Room Pick-up service. SG reserves the right to reject boxes submitted for storage in the event that the packages are considered unacceptable as to the manner in which they have been packed or for any other reason.
8a) Summer 2009 and Year-Long 2008-09 Parcels must be picked up by the customer or his/her agent from August 29th to 31st at the distribution site if Customer did not originally pay for “early pick-up.” Parcels paid for as “early pick-up” must be picked up by the customer from August 25th to August 31st. SG reserves the right to make changes in the date, time, or location of drop off, pick up, or early pick up. Parcels not picked up by 6 pm on August 31st will be assessed a late fee of $25 PER PARCEL PER DAY. Parcels not picked up by September 4th will be considered abandoned.
8b) Fall Study Abroad storage parcels must be picked up by the customer or his/her agent from January 12 - 13 2010 at the distribution site. SG reserves the right to make changes in the date, time, or location of drop off or pick up. Parcels not picked up by 6 PM January 13th, 2010 will be assessed a late fee of $25 PER PARCEL PER DAY. Parcels not picked up January 19th, 2010 will be considered abandoned.
8c) Year-Long storage parcels must be picked up by the customer or his/her agent in August (DATE TBA) 2010 at the distribution site. If a parcel is not picked up on this date, it will next be available August (DATE TBA) 2010. SG reserves the right to make changes in the date, time, or location of drop off, pick up, or early pick up. Early pick-up parcels not picked up by 6 PM August (DATE TBA) 2010 will be assessed a late fee of $25 PER PARCEL PER DAY. Parcels not picked up by 6 PM August (DATE TBA) 2010 will be assessed a late fee of $25 PER PARCEL PER DAY. Parcels not picked up August (DATE TBA) 2010 will be considered abandoned.
8d) Spring Study Abroad storage parcels must be picked up by the customer or his/her agent from August (DATE TBA) 2010 at the distribution site. SG reserves the right to make changes in the date, time, or location of drop off, pick up, or early pick up. Early pick-up parcels not picked up by 6PM August (DATE TBA) 2010 will be assessed a late fee of $25 PER PARCEL PER DAY. Parcels not picked up by 6PM August (DATE TBA) 2010 will be assessed a late fee of $25 PER PARCEL PER DAY. Parcels not picked up (DATE TBA) 2010 will be considered abandoned.
9) Contact SG immediately with any problems. Claims are to be made within 14 days of the first Pick Up date, in writing and sent by registered mail to the above address for Students of Georgetown, Inc. The Customer absolutely waives all claims after the expiration of the 14 day period.
10) SG works with vendors in performing the services for the Customer. The Customer acknowledges the use of these parties and the fact that the Customer has no contractual relationship with these parties.
11) The foregoing constitutes the full and complete agreement between SG and Customer, superseding all prior and subsequent representations and offerings of terms, either written or oral. Except as specifically provided in this Agreement, the Customer waives any claims against SG and its employees. The Customer acknowledges that SG is not a professional storer, mover or common carrier and waives the right to hold SG to any laws or standards governing storers, movers or carriers.
