About

Vital Vittles was one of the first Corp services. Opened in January 1973, it was the first storefront of the newly created Students of Georgetown, Inc. Originally a food co-op located in the lobby of New South, the store sold only only yogurt and Coke.

Vital Vittles moved to Leavey Center in August of 1988 and has been located there ever since. The store quickly expanded from a small convenience store to be a full-service grocery store carrying not only yogurt and the cheapest Coke on campus, but also frozen foods, produce, and toiletries, among the many other items often offered at lower prices than nearby grocery stores.

Today, Vital Vittles remains committed to the Georgetown community and the Corp motto of "Students Serving Students". It employs over 25% of the Corp's employees and accounts for over 50% of the Corp's annual revenue.
